The Mogoli Kilim

Mogoli kilims are woven in the state of Baluchistan, Pakistan by the Mogoli, who are descendants of the Mongols. They are currently refugees from northern Afghanistan. Their flat weave rugs, are woven with vegetable dyed hand spun wool. The patterns employed are frequently those of tribal Persia, including the traditional square soffreh or Persian eating cloth. Sizes are usually small to medium; numerous runners are available as well. These kilims have been woven especially for my shop, under the direction of Chris Walter of Yayla Tribal Rugs.
